9-month BRIGHT and SHINE programs: individual and group coaching, as well as peer support groups, to enhance emotional intelligence

The coaching experience is unique in the sense that it is not a traditional training course. At the end of BRIGHT, participants are not expected to leave with a “diploma” or a “certificate of attendance.” Instead, the final outcome is more internal, representing a transformation in the character and behavior of those who have completed the program. I believe it’s important to emphasize and re-emphasize this point because, in the general discourse for those external to the program, it is still often perceived as a “training course.” BRIGHT is more of an “un-training” than a “training.
